A post and screw connector is a type of fastener comprised of a barrel-shaped, internally-threaded boss (post) with a protruding flange, paired with a matching machine screw. The post is installed in a drilled hole in the part or surface being fastened, with the flange providing the bearing surface. The corresponding screw installs flush on the opposite side of the hole. Also known as Chicago screws, barrel nuts, or connector bolts, post and screw connectors are a low-profile fastener option.
